Demonstration Sites
Take a look at some of the sites below to see conservation in practice! These locations show examples of practices like forest management, invasive species removal, and creation of wildlife habitat across northeastern Wisconsin. Also, the sites encourage visitors to show what is possible!
Defining a Demo Site:
Under the LSR Grant, demonstration sites are being set up at a variety of locations that display our invasive species control and restoration work. The goal is to showcase areas where we can demonstrate the entire cycle of the work it takes to restore habitats. Each has benefitted from different conservation tasks, such as invasive species surveying, monitoring, removal, and finally restoration of native plants. Installing native species will go a long way towards ensuring that invasive weeds will not be able to return and re-establish in the same area. Our LSR funding can support these demo sites through 2025 and set them up for long-term success that will show landowners and neighbors the potential of their land.
